 Key Responsibilities

• Commodity strategy formulation and execution

• Executing Strategic Sourcing and Project Sourcing processes

• Contracts Management

• Supplier Relationship Management

• Vendor Risk Management

• Developing Fact Base Negotiation Strategies

• Identifying Commodity based opportunities; in order to reduce relevant Total Cost of Ownership

• Identifying potential Savings Initiatives

• Ensuring thorough Market Analysis/Research, in line with applicable tools and methodology

• Ensuring thorough Commodity Spend analysis

• Managing Cross Functional Sourcing Teams (CFST) activities

• Ensuring the organisation meets its BEE spend targets.

Skills and Competencies

• Commodity Strategy Development

• Contract and Supplier Management

• Solid analytical competency

• Extensive knowledge of preferential procurement and supply chain best practices

• Good knowledge of South African legislation pertaining to Supply Chain management

• Knowledge of Sourcing methodologies and practices

• Knowledge of foreign currency and commodity hedging policies and procedures

• Working knowledge of competitive bidding processes

• Sound knowledge of best practice Supply Management processes, including BB BEE practices

• Sound knowledge of procurement related legislation

• Good knowledge of ERP systems

• Problem-solving skills

• Strong negotiations and communication skills

• Planning and organising skills

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Strategic sourcing

• Diploma/Degree in Purchasing Management/Supply Chain Management

• CIPS qualification will be an advantage.

• Computer literacy, including proficiency in the use of SAP, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word

• A driver’s licence: The post involves extensive travelling
