Procurement Officer

SUMMARY:
My client a Telecommunications company is looking for a Procurement Officer to join their team

POSITION INFO:

• Request quotations and process purchase orders received from suppliers telephonically, faxed or emailed according to CFS procedures
• Provide sales staff with product and service information and support
• Monitor zero-, low-, and non-stock items for pricing and buying when necessary for sales orders and stock levels
• Liaise with and support dispatch department and supervisor regarding dispatching/receiving  instructions e.g. delivery, collect, courier etc
• Liaise with and support purchasing department regarding non stock items for pricing and buying when necessary for sales orders;
• Liaise with and support accounts department when new accounts / applications, accounts on hold and accounts over credit limit
• Liaise with, support and process when requested by external sales representatives or manager effectively
• Identify, research and resolve supplier issues
• Follow up orders outstanding
• Assist with procurement plan for BEE requirements
• Keep proper record of all pricing requests and feedback
• Manage procurement and pricing to allow achievement of Company Margins
• Attend sales meetings and training sessions with the seriousness required
• Complete any procurement related reports as requested by company
• Know your suppliers and competitors
• Recognize, document and alert the purchase supervisor/manager of trends, results and recommendations in buying
• Follow company procedures at all times
• Other duties as assigned
• Assist with the launch and implementation of new products
• Attend to all emails and queries quick and effectively

• Stock take:
• Manage the department allocated to you
• Do spot checks throughout month and solve queries before month end
• Attend stock take at month end
• Bring queries and problems under management’s attention and solve

Provident and medical aid on a 50/50 basis. However this will only be applicable after 3 months.

Candidate will be employed on a 3 month contract – whereafter a permanent contract could be negotiated.
