Procurement Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Greenstone is looking for a Procurement Manager.

POSITION INFO:

Experience & Requirements:

• Relevant degree at a minimum
• Knowledge of a trading business i.e. Stock/FMCG
• At least 3 to 5 years’ relevant post-qualifying experience with leadership and staff responsibilities
• Ability to think strategically and optimise opportunities
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Ability to lead a team, yet work independently and flexibly
• Energetic, creative, innovative and enthusiastic
• Entrepreneurial thinker
• Computer literacy in the Microsoft Office Suite with above average Excel skills and previous experience on an ERP system
• Strong people skills

Duties:

• Ordering of raws materials, buy-ins and packaging as per production requirements.
• Source and amend PO for raws once supplier confirms “no stock”.
• Liaise with Accounts Department on price differentials.
• Meet with suppliers to negotiate pricing and new products.
• Liaise with suppliers on foreseeable and unforeseen stock shortages and booking of stock for call off.
• Sourcing of new products and cheaper pricing on existing products telephonically, electronically and google as required.
• Follow up on order sent to supplier if no response and delivery thereof.
• Liaise with Receiving Clerk on stock received and in turn liaising with suppliers on incorrect or faulty product received, stock shortages on raw materials, packaging and buy-ins.
• Compiling packaging/components and placing orders for Small Packs
• Ordering of International stock
• Putting processes in place and evaluating and updating existing procedures
• Change pricing/descriptions on ERP when suppliers have increases or decreases, or when suppliers change.
• Opening of new suppliers & product codes on Pastel as well as amending existing codes
• Monthly Supplier evaluations on performance, pricing and service delivery .
• Track inventory levels for buyins
• Updating of suppliers’ pricelists in excel yearly.
• Any other adhoc duties as required by Top Management.

Remuneration

• R400 – R450k C.T.C p/a excluding bonus / incentives
