SUMMARY:
A large Multi-National consortium in the Manufacturing space is on the lookout for a Procurement Coordinator to join their fast paced team to be based within KwaZulu-Natal

POSITION INFO:

The ideal candidate will have the below experience and knowledge:

  • Effectively co-ordinating all procurement activities within the Transactional Procurement Team to secure supply in accordance with policy and procedure, meeting required timelines, and at lowest total cost and risk to the business.
  • Analyze weekly transactional reports and interrogate reasons for overdue PR’s & PO’s with individual Buyers. Escalate issues and file records of weekly interactions.
  • Manage relationships with internal departments at a senior level, ensuring that Buyers attend their weekly departmental meetings and file records thereof.
  • Ensure end user actions and commitments are adhered to e.g. issuing SOW / specification/ drawings.
  • Resolve daily queries and urgent issues from end-users and suppliers.
  • Work closely with Buying Team to further purchasing projects e.g. increased contract coverage, increased compliance to BEE objectives, cost savings initiatives, etc.
  • Assume an analyst role to assist Buyers in negotiating proposed supplier price increases, industry analysis, spend analysis, etc.
  • Manage transgressions registers and highlight supplier / user issues that require management intervention.
  • Co-ordinate activities among departments to ensure the smooth operation of the R2P process. Facilitate & Ensure Buyer interactions with accounts in resolving Account Queries / Account Recon actions.
  • Manage the sale of redundant assets / items in strict compliance to company guidelines.
  • Perform general expediting and chasing and follow up e.g. OSR with areas.
  • Working closely with the Strategic Buyer Contracts on standard monthly audit checks and spot checks e.g. a sample of PO’s per buyer must be checked for procedural compliance every month.
  • Run weekly report of rejected PO’s and expedite compliance for approval – highlight reasons for rejections, for training / disciplinary action.
  • General admin of Transactional team i.e. manage meeting invites, agenda, minutes etc.

 

Experience:

  • Ideally having at least 5 – 10 years of procurement experience, with some proven experience in leading a team.
  • Strong analytical thinking capability and skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate and knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products and purchase-to-pay transactions system. ERP Knowledge and experience with the Maximo system would be an advantage.
  • A high level of integrity and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Purchasing / Supply Chain / Commerce.
