Process Engineer/Technologist - Durban
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Qualifications:
ØBachelor of Engineering: Chemical Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering/Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
Ø3 to 5 years Process Engineering experience in a high paced Chemical Manufacturing Environment, preferably in a Batch Processing Environment.
ØA strong background in chemistry, physics and mathematics is paramount.
Roles & Responsibilities:
ØMaintain and improve process engineering performance as well as process safety.
ØPioneer continuous improvement and project management initiatives.
ØMaintain and improve SHERQ systems around the factory.
ØProcess safety initiatives.
ØLead process design and layout optimizations.
ØDevelop process data sheets as inputs to other engineering disciplines.
ØManage maintenance contractors.
ØMaintain the plant.
ØLead the development of SOPs around the plant.
ØLead the HAZOP and HAZID studies.
ØProvide technical solution to production team.
ØPerform equipment installations and modifications around the plant.
ØContribute to equipment specifications and procurement process.
ØConduct research to develop new and improved products and manufacturing processes.
ØIdentifying process deviation, threats, and risks.
ØLead the Root Cause Analysis.
ØRunning the trials on the bench scale and compiling experimental reports prior piloting.
ØPilot and manage the introduction of new products into the plant and establish consolidate the formulation processes and draft operating and production manuals.
ØNegotiating and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
ØDo tests and monitor performance of processes throughout production.
ØTroubleshoot problems with manufacturing processes.
ØEvaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
ØEstimate production costs for management.
