Qualifications / Requirements:

• National Higher Diploma or Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering

• Process engineering experience in automotive industry ( 5 - 10 years’ experience) – Essential

• Formal training and practical application in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Software

• Formal training, practical application, knowledge and application of Advanced product quality planning (APQP)

• Knowledge and application of problem solving tools e.g. G8D for root cause analysis

• Working knowledge of process design and layout optimizations

• Industrialization of new projects from process design to production realization

• Knowledge of customer specific requirements related to industrialization of projects

• CNC machine process development – new process set ups

• Formal training and practical application in CNC programming (Edgecam)

• Formal training and practical application in (CAD) software (Autocad)

• Excellent analytical and mathematics skills

• Tolerance for stress, ability to work to deadline pressure

• High technical aptitude

• Attention to detail

• Safety awareness

• Reliability

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Key Performance Areas:

• Quotes for new projects (work out machining and machining processes from manufacturing drawings)

• Support the projects team with new projects industrialization in terms of achieving process, system and product improvements

• Oversee and assess existing processes and workflows to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades

• Optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures

• Assemble reports to document process status and changes

• Communicate findings and proposals to upper management

• Utilize process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies.

• Provide thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes

• Conduct risk assessments

• Assess compliance with applicable safety and quality standards

• Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed

• CNC machining programming

• CNC machine fixture concept / designs

• CNC tool concept and design

• Machine cycle time studies

• Process layout improvements

• Man machine charts

• Draft process sheets

• Metrology measure bore diameters and depth with various gauges

• Ensure required documentation is received and signed off prior to production buyoff of projects
