SUMMARY:
The role requires a strong person with Technical Skills (Process)

POSITION INFO:

MAIN FUNCTIONS:

• Design and integration of Process Control Systems.
• Analyse Production needs and plant improvement opportunities.
• Initiate continuous improvement projects as a result of Process Control Analysis and Problem Solving.
• Monitoring key timelines that need to be adhered to in terms of maintaining synergy between the different units to enable complete integration.
• Execution of feasibility studies, conceptual design, process studies and trouble shooting.
• Conduct research and benchmarking to develop new and improved manufacturing processes.
• Conduct equipment selection and process designs in partnership with the Engineering Department.
• Analyse risks associated with specific optimisation plans in terms of Quality, Safety and Productivity, and/or effectiveness of mitigating strategies based on utilisation and performance measures.
• Prepare consolidated operational reports on progress, performance and results of improvement projects.
• Performing operational and time studies on processes within the production of Meals, Pellets, Blocks and Liquids.
• Monitor compliance with production standards, Quality Assurance procedures and provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Be a Change Agent that’s involved in stakeholder engagement to obtain buy-in into improvement projects.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL QUALITIES/SKILLS:

• Grade 12 plus a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering (Essential).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Advantageous)
• 5 Years’ Experience in a similar role within a Manufacturing Environment. Animal Feeds experience will be an added advantage.
• A strong Engineering background with good understanding of Chemical or Process Engineering.
• Must be meticulous, approachable, possess a positive attitude and be self-motivated.
• Be able to work efficiently as a self-starter, possess integrity, reliable, assertive and a good team player.
• Must be Computer Literate.
