SUMMARY:
Our client in the Automotive industry, based in Coega, seeks to employ a PDI (pre-delivery inspection) Technician to join their Quality Department.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

- Ensure adherence to the company`s rules and regulations as documented in the company`s disciplinary policy.

- Ensure adherence to all health and safety practices and procedures as defined during induction and other health & Safety training.

- Ensure and maintain constant workflow.

- Ensure that daily and monthly PDI targets are met as assigned by your supervisor.

- Ensure that adherence to any PDI catch up plan are met on a daily basis.

- Ensure effective communication between your Team and supporting departments.

- Ensure that daily reports are submitted timeously to your Supervisor.

- Ensure finished goods are moved to the next process upon completion of PDI tasks.

- Ensure the correct use and storage of all tools and equipment.

- Ensure and verify that all items are properly repaired and sign off on the job card when completed.

- Ensure all reject forms are completed correctly and is authorised by the supervisor before getting parts from the Warehouse for replacement thereof.

- Ensure proper repairs to any electrical systems and circuits and the correct test method to verify all electrical repairs are complete and ensure it is signed off on the job card.

- Ensure all electrical and mechanical items & related components are checked as per the pre-delivery inspection sheet and rectified per the workshop manuals before sending to the dealership.

- Ensure all items in the Final Inspection are checked as per the pre-delivery inspection sheet and rectified before issuing a conformance certificate for the specific item and sending it to the dealership.

- Feedback all major issues found during PDI immediately to the supervisor.

- Knowledge on diagnostics and repairs to ABS & Air systems.

- Knowledge on basic problem solving, fault finding and rectification of parts or processes.

- Knowledge on Dynamic drive testing to ensure a good quality & defect free items are delivered to the customer.

- Support all modifications that are required from after-sales on parts and processes when required.

- Participate and attend all meetings when required.

- Ability to work on electrical automotive components.

- Ability on engine fault finding.

- Ability to identify and name all parts pertaining to vehicles.

- Knowledge and use of special tools (torque wrench, multi-meter, battery tester etc).

- Adhoc function which may fall in the ambit of the job requirements.

Requirements:

- Grade 12
- Trade Certificate Diesel Mechanic/Auto Electrician
- Code 10/14
- Proven Basic AMT knowledge
- Proven Airbrake & ABS systems knowledge
- Proven fault-finding ability
