Excellent Opportunity for a Plantsman for Mining Construction Company in Glenover, Limpopo (R 40K – R49K per month).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Our Client, a well-established leading JSE listed Mining Company, providing construction materials and industrial minerals, is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Plantsman to be based at their Glenover, Limpopo Operations.        


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Ensure plant production and/or maintenance.
  • Demonstrate competence to ensure consistent, efficient, and effective running of technical and operational of all processes, systems, tools and equipment related to the aggregates industry and fixed quarry plant operation and maintenance practices.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical Matric – Essential
  • Trade (Millright, boilermaker, fitter) – ESSENTIAL
  • Safety certificates and/or training - ESSENTIAL
  • Crushing and screening courses - Advantage
  • Plant production management courses – Advantage
  • At least ten to 10 years’ experience in a high-pressure production or maintenance environment.
  • Safety management experience and an in-depth knowledge of all related legislation.
  • Proven track record in a plant production and/or maintenance role.
  • Thorough and in-depth technical and operational knowledge of all processes, systems, tools and equipment related to the aggregates industry and fixed quarry plant operation and maintenance practices in particular.
  • Good knowledge of plant maintenance and operation.
  • Ability to identify issues/bottlenecks and rectify them.
  • Ability to work in harmony with a broad and diverse team.
  • Good pro-active planning skills
  • Proven listening and conflict resolution skills – Communication
  • Ability to create a shared vision for own and broader team.
  • Ability to inspire, organise and direct own team.
  • The candidate must be medically fit in terms the Mine Health and Safety Act.   

  Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Plant Maintenance
  • Ensuring safe work practices and a safe and legally compliant working environment
  • Performing first level maintenance & optimising plant settings
  • Cost and Quality control
  • Managing self and reporting staff
  • Planning and executing work
  • Tracking and reporting plant performance
  • Running the plant to achieve set and agreed production targets
  • Achieving plant KPI’s (availability, utilisation, idle-time, production-rate, OEE & OPP)
  • Establishing a pro-active maintenance culture
  • Collaborating with TMM maintenance staff to ensure minimal downtime and a coordinated maintenance effort in support of effective production and achievement of production and financial targets
