Plant Supervisor (Witbank)

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Plant Supervisor; this person should have at least 5 years’ experience in the Ready-Mix Concrete Industry

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

• Manage and coordinate administration, production, quality and maintenance of the plant and vehicles under his control.
• Manage the training and development of staff on the operation under his control.
• Manage the industrial relationship issues on the operations under his control.
• Manage allocated budget and ensure that all budget constraints; re forecast requirements are adhered too.
• Manage and co-ordinate Health, Safety and Quality programmes and issues on the operations under his control.
• Manage and control materials and stock levels at the plant.
• Ensure that team members carry out cleaning, lubrication, and inspection.
• Manage daily staff challenges and HR related matters.
• Ensure daily short interval controls are done in accordance with the Company Policy and Procedures.
• Manage and create a worker friendly workplace that will maintain high morale, integrity and work ethics.
• Attend and conduct daily meetings.
• Ensure good communication with fellow employees and adhere to all set deadlines.
• Ensure all documentation is handled with care and submitted to Head Office / Regional Office timeously.
  

 

Education:  Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Tertiary Qualification would be an advantage

 

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• At least 5 years’ experience in the Ready-Mix Concrete Industry
• Prior experience as a Plant Supervisor in the Ready-mix Concrete Industry
• Prior experience in the construction industry essential
• Specific industry knowledge, product, and the market in the area
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to work with people and have the ability to lead a team
• Must be able to work under pressure and sometimes conflicting deadlines
• Must have good negotiation and selling skills
