Planning Manager - Manufacturing

SUMMARY:
Ensure efficient planning of all production lines in the company.

POSITION INFO:

Overseeing and maintaining the optimum inventory levels in line with working capital requirements and that adequate levels of supplies are maintained for the production process and optimum levels of WIP and finished goods.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Degree in Industrial Engineering or Production Management
• 5 years of Planning and Scheduling experience
• Min 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably plastics)
• Understand the manufacturing, printing and converting of blown packaging concepts
• Advanced Excel skills
• Must have worked on Syspro or ERP System
• Experience with Syspro MOM scheduler will be an advantage
• Fluent in English (read, write and speak)
• Knowledge of processes
• Good People Skills
• Analytical Mindset
• Ability to problem solve
• Attention to detail

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Managing the teams responsible for processing orders, planning jobs and maintaining communication with both the sales team, production team as well as the customer
• Driving and leading a customer-centric approach to operations by creating the link between sales and production
• Planning and coordination of Repro, Artwork and Plate Reproduction.
• Ensuring all raw materials are available to the respective Departments and issued by Stores
• Developing systems and processes to identify problems and communicating appropriate solutions through the business
• Producing Work Schedules on a real-time basis by ensuring all departments are working towards a common goal on a daily basis and updating relevant departments to adjust plans
• Communicating any variations in production that affect the Customer`s confirmed dispatch date, and in turn the extended delivery date
• Daily monitoring of the system to ensure all deliveries are dispatched on the specified dates
• Analysing available production capacity for each cost centre
• Work hand in hand with the Logistics Manager to achieve optimum OTIF
• To prepare action plans for the targeted figures for OEE and waste via daily operational meetings and monthly reviews to monitor the progress on set KPI’s
• Ensure planned maintenance of assets are conducted without exception
• Quality Assurance – ISO representative for the company. Work hand in hand with Quality Control team to ensure consistency and conformance of products
