SUMMARY:
A leading consulting and engineering company is currently recruiting for Piping Designers on a contract basis for head office in Bryanston provide draughting and design direction and their supervision to ensure:

Drawing accountabilities are met.
Timely information transfer to other roles / disciplines / department.
Efficient production of piping arrangement drawings and isometrics
To work in a safe manner, complying with and actively contributing to the Wood Health, Safety and Environmental HSSE policies, manuals, and procedures. At all times considering the health, safety and welfare of fellow workers, visitors, clients, community, and the environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities:

Review requests for changes and if outside the scope of work, submit to the relevant Project Manager / Project Engineering Manager an estimate of man-hours, costs and any effect to program under the approval of HOD / Principal Designer
Review all information available for each phase of the project and report on delays in receipt of information to the Project Supervisor
Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, specifications, procedures, etc produced within the Piping Drawing Office
Responsible for the execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures and standards, within the man-hour and cost budgets and project schedules
Responsible for adherence to Engineering Procedure for Design Safety and to ensure the adoption of safe attitudes towards piping design and that features affecting the safety and integrity of the projects are reviewed by appropriately authorized engineers from other groups/departments

Qualifications and Experience required:

N3 or Matric
MicroStation CAD Software Package Version J or later
Smart plant 3D Piping experience and Smart Plant Review
Minimum 4-5 Years’ experience
