Phlebotomy Technicians

SUMMARY:
Phlebotomy Technicians required to work on a sessional contract at a hospital in the north of Johannesburg, with possibility of  permanent employment.

POSITION INFO:
The main responsibility will include sample collection from patients, ensure adequate stock for sample collection and correctly capture the patient request form including other administrative duties. Process samples on the diagnostic equipment.

Education and work requirements:
Phlebotomy Technician certificate
Registered with HPCSA as Phlebotomy Technician
Additional training/education: Phlebotomy Techniques (NQF level4)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in this position
Computer proficient and experience with LIS systems
Strong administration and communication skills
 
Skills/competencies:
Ability to work in a pressurized environment
Function independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
Detail orientated
Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize work schedule 
Ability to professionally handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians or other healthcare professionals
Maintain confidentiality of medical, financial and legal information
