Personal Lines Underwriter

SUMMARY:
Our client has been one of the largest financial service providers in Southern Africa since 1988 and is looking for a Personal Lines Underwriter with at least 5 years’ experience in Personal Lines Underwriting in a broker environment.

POSITION INFO:

DUTIES:

• Take appropriate action to minimize cancellations
• Ensure retention targets are met
• Ensure new business growth targets are met
• Ensure and contribute to minimization of general expenses
• Ensure all stakeholders communication is accurate, timeous, professional and relevant
• Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal stakeholders
• Ensure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction targets
• Adhere to company standard operating procedures and broader regulatory frameworks
• Engage in timely and proactive communication with relevant client account executive regarding movements on the client’s portfolio
• Ensure productivity targets are met
• Contribute towards and ensure continuous improvement
• Adhere to company mandates
• Participate and contribute in ad hoc projects
• Report any suspected fraud, misrepresentation and / or dishonesty
• Keep accurate record of own activities
• Live the company values

REQUIREMENT:

• Matric or equivalent
• RE5
• FAIS Compliant
• Computer Literate (MS Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills
• 5 years’ experience as a Personal Lines Underwriter (broker environment)
• Full Covid-19 vaccination
