Payroll Manager

SUMMARY:
One of our focus clients based in Cape Town is currently seeking a Payroll Manager to join their fast growing team

POSITION INFO:

This person will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. This person needs to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

Responsibilities:

• Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments)
• Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
• Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
• Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits.
• Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• esolve issues and answer payroll-related questions

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a payroll manager or similar role
• Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
• A keen eye for detail
• Outstanding communication skills (written and oral
• BSc/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPP, CPM) is a plus
• Energetic
• 2 -3 years experience
