Position Overview:

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing the Payroll function within a retail environment. This person must have good management skills and must be able to fit in and work accurately as part of a busy finance team. The position will be based at the Head Office in Vincent, while the retail stores are situated in Queenstown & Cofimvaba. The position will report directly to the Group Financial Manager and to the MD for the smaller Personal Assistant Function.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proven working experience as a Payroll Administrator - shift-based environment
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Above average computer skills including spreadsheets

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process the retail shifts for both stores
  • Export clocking details for the employees
  • Prepare and Process all initiating documentation needed to run both payrolls; Shifts, Engagements, Discharges, Leave, Loans, Uniforms etc
  • Process the monthly deductions for both stores
  • Manage and maintain all staff files
  • Handle all Payroll related queries
  • Assist with the outsourced HR function and documentation
  • Various administration duties as requested/required

 

Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficiency in English as the PA Function entails letter writing abilities
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
