Pastry Sous Chef
POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
- · Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts and Diploma in Pattiserie
- · Must have at least 5 years experience in a 5* Lodge or Fine Dining Establishment
- · Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- · Exposure to a stock Management System
- · Neat with high regard for personal hygiene and presentation
- · Solid English verbal communication skills
- · Understanding and application of basic math calculations
- · Experience in basic kitchen administration, food ordering and stock and cost control
- · Proven ability to train and manage people
- · Able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays
Accommodation
- Accommodation is shared – staff quarters - bathroom & kitchen shared and not entirely the room
Laundry
- Laundry done twice a week for senior staff
WIFI
- Free Wi-Fi access
Medical
- There is no medical aid for junior staff , however they can go to a doctor and dentist (extraction) and the company pays the doctor on the payroll (this is also application to non-Executive staff members)
- Senior staff members 50% contribution and company contributes 50%
Shifts
24 days on and 8 days off (they work 24 consecutive days and are off for 8 consecutive days)
Grocery
We have a staff account – where weekly on request the company to purchase groceries on behalf of the staff and deducted off their salary .
Kindly note that we are preferably looking for candidates who are available immediately or with short notice, who are willing to travel and can make those arrangements quickly and candidates who are highly skilled in pastry and part of a kitchen management team with Chef on duty
