A large automotive company is seeking for a Parts and Accessories Sales Manager to join their team!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Parts & Accessories Sales Manager 

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Set and maintain strategic direction for the Parts and Accessories unit whilst taking responsibility and accountability for its performance, operational efficiency, growth and reporting. Driving Sales and all related logistics regarding parts department  

 

FUNCTIONAL AREA: Parts & Accessories Sales Manager

 

REPORTS TO:     Dealer principal

 

DIRECT REPORTS: As per organogram

 

INTERNAL (TEAM) INTERACTION (information, support, advice): Across organisation: exchange of information, support, advice, persuasion, negotiation

 

EXTERNAL INTERACTION (information, support, advice, persuasion/ negotiation): Dealers and suppliers (foreign and local), service providers, media, industry players, government bodies, end-users/customers:  exchange of information, advice, persuasion and negotiation

CRITICAL OUTCOMES REQUIREMENT

1.

 

 

 

 

Strategic Planning

  • Scan market to determine trends and opportunities
  • Recommend positioning of products in the market, new or improved products and courses of action
  • Review business model in terms of route to market and product range extensions
  • Secure correct stock to support the sales teams and Workshop
  • Liaise regularly with DP regarding product mix and volumes
  • Perform Stock takes
  • Ensure 1 pic rate that is to satisfaction

Maintain market share and margins

Business Planning and Expense Budget

  • Review stock on hand, produce forecasts and place orders
  • Determine recommended selling prices
  • Determine selling prices
  • Review Cost of Sales
  • Determine margins within company parameters
  • Review expenses and propose a comprehensive budget
  • Manage agreed budget and variances
  • Report as required

Viable budget supporting company and departmental plans

 

 

Viable and on time

Actual performance in line with or better than budget

Sales and Marketing

  • Manage retail network interaction and build positive customer relationships
  • Resolve end-user / customer issues
  • Manage and optimise stock and factory orders
  • Promote product lines appropriately
  • Determine and implement aligned marketing strategies

 

Market share is retained

Retail network meets targets and complies with company parameters

Budgeted sales and stock levels achieved.

Supplier Relationship Management

 

 

 

  • Ensure accurate and on-time forecasting and orders
  • Host supplier delegations
  • Keep suppliers informed of market characteristics and trends
  • Maintain positive supplier relationships

 

Overtly positive communication and co-operation with suppliers

Time keeping

  • The Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) stipulates that employers must record the working hours of all employees in an attendance register, sometimes referred to as a timesheet or time logbook.
  • This is done by means of facial recognition clock-in and clock-out wireless devices

MOST COMPLEX ASPECTS TYPICAL OF ROLE: Accurate forecasting, stock management

 

DESCRIBE FLUCTUATION OF WORK (even flows, predictable peaks, unforeseen peaks): Predictable peaks driven by seasonality of business and product launches.  Unforeseen and unpredictable peaks caused by market conditions and customer service interaction.

 

LIMITS TO AUTHORITY:  TBA

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM ROLE:  Industry experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:  Grade 12

 

MINIMUM PERIOD OF EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING (DESCRIBE TYPICAL EXPERIENCE BACKGROUND): 5 years’ cross-functional experience with at least 3 years in Sales and customer interaction

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENTIAL/ TRAINING BACKGROUND:  Exposure to import and distribution, marketing, franchise retail or similar industry experience.
