POSITION INFO:
Purpose
To manage Workshop costs and customer downtime. Direct the activities of the team, scheduling their work to meet production requirements and ensure an efficient and safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Matric: Required
Certificate: Boilermaker OR Certificate Spray painter
Minimum Experience
Mining equipment or Mining industry Spray painter: Operational 3years; Supervisory 1 year

Roles and Responsibilities include inter alia:
Technical
Plan, organise, lead, control and communicate team production outputs.
Compile and complete quality assurance checklists.
Compile labour, WIP, and costing reports.
Conduct time studies for continuous improvement
Provide technical or professional advice, support, and consultation.
Attend/support daily production meetings as required.
 
Process job requests
Quotations are accurately processed according to company policy
Job requests are accurately captured on system
Job card is produced within set time frame
Job card(s) is submitted to Costing Clerk for processing
Accurately manage and process consumables per job and find ways to reduce wastages.
 
Leadership
Based on the production schedule, allocate individual tasks to each member of the team.
Motivate and drive team members to continually achieve excellence in all aspects of their work
Monitor and record productivity and adherence to quality standards.
Assist in the preparation of disciplinary review meetings.
 
Safety
Conduct team toolbox talk.
Regularly review all hand tooling and record problems.
Carry out risk analysis as per standard and ensure Artisans complete risk analysis
Promote good housekeeping practices and accept safety standards and procedures
Ensure and inspection before any job is started and adherence to safety standards and procedures
Ensure protective clothing is worn at all times
Ensure a clean and safe working environment is adhered to
Ensure equipment is maintained at all times and defects reported to the relevant manager

Driving Licenses
Code B; Motor vehicle licence
System Skills
Computer literate, MS Office
