Packing Support Officer (Seasonal Contract)

POSITION INFO:

This is a Fixed Term position from 1 March – 30 September 2024.

The criteria and requirements are as follows:

• Packhouse Experience is essential.
• Matric Certificate
• Valid driver’s license and own transport.
• Must be fluent in Afrikaans or English and have good communication skills.
• Experience of Paltrack will be an advantage.
• +/-3 years’ experience at a junior management level / Supervisory level.
• Knowledge of citrus fruit is key.
• Must be innovative and detail oriented.
• Capable of managing multiple and high-priority tasks.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and good time management.
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various level.
• Strong organizational skills to ensure that daily operations run efficiently.
• Ability to manage processes effectively and meet firm deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Overview of key activities:

• Develop a weekly supply and delivery schedule per packing facility and share information with relevant parties.
• Measure plan VS actual and facilitate in improvement opportunities.
• Ensure that the production plan is validated and followed correctly.
• Ensure that the packing instructions are sufficient for the actual delivered fruit.
• Responsible for the accuracy of the intake and dispatch report and distribution to relevant parties.
• Responsible for fruit daily quality checks and share reporting with relevant parties (Fruit quality according to fruit specs, Fruit age, pack quality, pallet age).
• Ensure packed pallets meets quality and visual standards (Include information on labels).
• Assist packing facility with special packaging material requirements.
• Assist with logistics from truck loads, administration & inspections.
