Packhouse Manager

SUMMARY:
A well-established Food Processing company requires the above to manage, pack and dispatch quality product for Export and Local markets in the most productive and cost-effective manner, within standards set by market agents with application of sound labour relations.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Previous Management experience having worked within the Production, Manufacturing or FMCG environment is essential.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and Global GAP accreditation is advantageous.
• Previous experience having managed a Production or Packhouse facility is essential.
• The successful candidate must be willing to workday or night shift during the busy season if required to do so.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Achieve Packhouse goals and objectives through agreed KPI’s.
• Formulate and execute continuous improvement plans.
• Co-ordinate and execute the packing program as planned and prioritised by the Marketing Department.
• Manage costs within the Packhouse against budget, apply WCM or Lean techniques to improve accuracy and productivity.
• Maintain good communication and assistance to Growers (primary customers)
• Motivate and lead the Packhouse Team to take ownership and pride in delivering the highest quality of product according to grade.
• Effectively manage Staff, and ensure compliance with Company Policies.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation requirements are complied with.
