PVC EXTRUSION OPERATOR

The company is looking to employ a PVC Extrusion Operator.

Applicants must have:

• Minimum of GRADE 12
• Mathematics as a subject will be an added advantage
• Prepared to work shifts and or weekends.
• At least 4 years’ experience
• Ability to read and communicate in English
• Ability to read, understand and interpret a job card and good knowledge of materials.

Main duties and experienced required on:

• Ability to use measuring equipment
• Ability to set up and start extrusion machine
• Setting up of the extruders in accordance with the Job card requirements and guidelines as specified in the Extrusion Start-up and procedures and machine sheets
• Inspect and record quality at the beginning and throughout the shift
• Use extrusion trouble-shooting guide when discrepancies are detected
• Constantly monitor width, color and clarity to avoid out of spec situation
• Provide sample to QA for inspection at the end of each and every roll
• Remove all out-of-spec rolls from production and flag it.
• Complete identification ticket for every roll should the job require further processing and insert it thereon.
• Have a fair knowledge of ISO 9001: 2001
• Must have a good knowledge of how the extrusion machine work
• Inspect pallets for conformance
• Regularly check production status of each job to efficiently change jobs on completion of an order.
• Ability to adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure pressure, speed, temperature and general operation
• Record an ongoing tally of production in individual extrusion machine production books including on hold stations.
• To continuously perform troubleshooting on machines whenever necessary.
