SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the Quantity Surveying and Project Management team to achieve their overall service to the client and to ensure all aspects of the day-to-day activities are achieved.

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

Responsible for supporting the Quantity Surveying and Project Management team to achieve their overall service to the client and to ensure all aspects of the day-to-day activities are achieved. To undertake all administrative aspects of a construction project where tasks vary daily and be able to prioritize workload to meet client and internal deadlines.

  • Perform project specific administration tasks as and when required to meet the needs of the project.
  • Manage and maintain relevant filing systems and databases
  • Ensure effective and efficient processing of documents through Company systems, working within set time frames
  • Work closely with the Project Team to ensure that relevant administrative tasks are dealt with efficiently 
  • Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth flow of information
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities 
  • Evaluate tenders from contractors and SMMEs and recommend submission of appropriate proposals 
  • Manage and monitor the proposal process to conclusion 
  • Where required, negotiate with the contractors and all relevant stakeholders

  • Ability to multi-task, and work efficiently and accurately under pressure Professional and pleasant manner in dealing with internal and external customers Ability to generate professional correspondence unaided proficiency with MS Office programs and a good standard of written English Ability to perform Quality Assurance Understanding of the building industry and legal requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualifications Minimum Requirement: Grade 12 or Equivalent qualification
  • Certificate in Administration or Secretarial Duties
  • Experience of working in an administration/secretarial role 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the housing industry
