PRODUCTION MANAGER – ALBERTON

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an experienced person who has working experience in the steel manufacturing or fabrication industry to oversee the production process.

POSITION INFO:

 Qualifications:

• Matric
• Production Management Qualification coupled with Total Quality Management / Lean Manufacturing Qualification
• N4 and above qualification

Experience and Requirements:

• 10 or more-years proven experience in a manufacturing / steel fabrication company
• Depth of exp in an ISO 9001:2015 env
• Own Vehicle & Driver’s License
• Production planning management
• Of sober habits
• Reside close to Alrode
• Have a stable work record and contactable references
• Good communication skills
• Strong management and supervisory skills
• Ability to alternate between the office and production floor
• Technical production management ability
• Ability to read highly technical drawings and ability to correctly order flanges, materials, steel profiles in line with client drawing requirements and specs
• Implement and improve on management procedures and structures
• A highly organised and structure individual
• Have relevant and up to date skills and knowledge of machine maintenance
• Assertive
• Problem solving ability

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Quality assurance and management together with Quality Manager
• Scheduled maintenance / shutdowns and breakdown maintenance
• Ability to alternate between the office and production floor
• Plan output in line with demand [staff and materials]
• Manage HSE
• Daily housekeeping
• Responsible for Quality Spot checks, welding check before delivery
• Logistics management
• Job card management systems implementation [must be good with admin]
• Stores and stock management
• Prepare factory for factory visits and site management
• Handle IR and HR for Factory
• Attend management meetings and reports on issues that impact the business from a production point of view
• Daily meetings to discuss demand and job cards
• Chair and hold production meetings
• Identify and manage staff training needs
