SUMMARY:
PLANT ENGINEER

POSITION INFO:

COMPETENCIES:

  • National Diploma / Mechanical /Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Government Certificate of Competence (GCC Factories).
  • Minimum 10 years in a heavy engineering environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage capital projects and plant modifications.
  • Asset management and condition based monitoring experience.
  • Good understanding of milling and diffuser operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience on planned maintenance system.
  • Sugar industry experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good technical fault-finding / problem solving skills.
  • Excellent people management /leadership skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate the Maintenance and operations teams.
  • Knowledge and extensive experience Microsoft package.
  • Knowledge and experience on food safety standards (ISO 22000) will be an added advantage.

 

KEY FOCUS AREAS:

  • Operation and maintenance of Cane Preparation, Extraction and De-watering Mill plants.
  • Implementation of planned maintenance and routine maintenance strategies in order to improve plant availability.
  • Controlling of maintenance and operating budgets for both season and off-crop.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and implementing effect
