JOB DESCRIPTION:

PAYROLL AND FINANCE ASSISTANT – Maitland, Cape Town

R20 000 – R25 000 Per Month plus Performance Based Bonus

A National Retail and Manufacturing concern is in search of a highly organised and numerically inclined individual.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Provide support to the Financial Director by performing day-to-day financial/payroll administration functions to join their dynamic finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Control Time & Attendance records as applicable – about 110 staff
  • Control physical extra/and or short time worked
  • Administer all employee records except salaries on administration staff
  • Record all leave records
  • Record all Skills & Development records
  • Record all Employment Equity records
  • Prepare monthly Payroll on Factory staff and Contract workers – about 70 staff
  • Prepare contracts for new employees together with any other related matters
  • Keep up to date all Disciplinary, Employment Equity, Skills and any other
  • Labour related information.
  • Administer Performance appraisals and relevant training needs
  • Keep all Pension fund information up to date
  • Administer and keep up to date Policies and Procedures as required
  • Various other financial functions as determined from time to time.
  • Backup to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

Accounts Payable:

  • Validate and process all Invoices received
  • Plan and prepare relevant payments
  • Attend to related queries

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum Matric
  • Relevant Qualification advantageous
  • 3-5 years’ experience in payroll and finance administration
  • Above experience gained within the manufacturing / retail / warehousing / distribution industry would be advantageous!
  • Working knowledge of Psiber is ideal and / or alternative payroll package
  • Experience on Syspro or any ERP system
  • Reasonable knowledge of BCEA
  • Knowledge gained in VAT and Company legislation
  • Proven MS Office skills
