PACKHOUSE MANAGER

SUMMARY:
Hoedspruit Area – Limpopo: This fast-growing company needs to add an experienced manager to their team (farming with mango’s and citrus) Ideally applicants should have 5 years’ experience within a pack-house environment (preferable in the citrus industry)

POSITION INFO:

The primary purpose for the role is to pack and dispatch quality citrus and mangoes for export and local market in the most productive and cost-effective manner; effective utilization of machinery, equipment and material within standards set by Marketers and application of sound labour relations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Agricultural Diploma/Degree advantageous

Min of 5 previous years’ experience in similar role

Experience with working with BRC / HACCP

Computer literate

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Key Performance areas:

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

Assist in the development and implementation of strategic Packhouse operational plans.

Coordination and execution of the packing program as planned and prioritised by the Marketing department.

Effectively manage staff and ensure compliance with company policies at all times.

Monitor and ensure that the packing equipment, workstations and entire Packhouse is maintained at the required hygiene and operational standards.

Monitor and ensure that the quality that is being packed is to each customers specification.

Manage costs within the Packhouse according to budget and be proactive by considering more efficient ways of working.

Lead and Motivate Packhouse team to take ownership and pride in delivering the highest quality of product according to grade.
