SUMMARY:
PACKER (STEEL / MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY)
POSITION INFO:
RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking a suitably experienced PACKER (STEEL / MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY) for a large concern, position based in the Durban area.
JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Forklift license (preferably to 7 tons).
Lifting equipment license of some sort (forklift and/or crane) an advantage.
Electronic / automatic or guillotine machine operation experience an advantage.
1 year general experience in steel / manufacturing industry.
Visual inspection of condition of material.
Correcting of stacking by using mallet if not within specified stacking tolerance.
Packing and strapping of material as per standard procedure.
Re-packing of material if required due to damage or incorrect stacking.
Ensuring the availability of packing material by monitoring physical stock levels.
General housekeeping of the packing area.
Ability to work overtime and / or shift work as and when required per operational requirements.
Assist production department with driving of forklift as and when required.
