Outgoing Logistics Controller

SUMMARY:

My client is seeking an Outgoing Logistics Controller/Team Lead, reporting to the Site Logistics Supervisor. Responsibilities are to ensure that daily assigned tasks are carried out accurately and on time.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12
• Mathematical abilities
• Valid Forklift Driver’s license required

• It is essential to have previous experience of at least 3 years working experience in SA
• Minimum 2 years warehousing experience
• SAP: knowledge of Materials Management Modules as well as GR and GI transactions is essential
• Accuracy when processing data/transactions
• Ability to lead a team
• Ability to solve problems
• Good knowledge in MS Excel & MS Word.

• To accurately and speedily issue materials to production physically on on the SAP system to ensure availability and stock accuracy.
• To perform continuous accuracy checks on outgoing inventory for material control and accounting purposes.
• To investigate discrepancies, locate errors, report on KPI’s and initiate corrective actions.
• Lead the daily assigned team under the directive of the Site Logistics Supervisor to ensure that daily assigned tasks are carried out accurately and on time.
• Plan the daily workload for this team and assign the tasks appropriately.
• Follow up and report on progress of assigned tasks.
• Supervise all deliveries of outgoing goods into the site.
• Randomly check all deliveries to ensure accurate stock figures on SAP using batch management and ensure that all materials issued are booked into the PSA area on delivery
• Follow up all queries from the plants to ensure timeous resolution and accurate stock records
• Solving all queries pertaining to stock transfers in consultation with production staff to ensure accurate movements and records of stocks, as well as timeous resolution of issues i.e. shortages and damages.
• Identify stock inaccuracies, investigate discrepancies and use problem solving skills to ensure the appropriate action is taken to correct discrepancies by using SAP to monitor inventory transactions, find errors and report on these errors.
• Ensure that all returns from the plants are physically counted, accurately booked and accurately placed into bins.
• Ensure that no damages or unlabelled stocks are booked into bins.
• Process and record material rejections and ensure returns to suppliers are correctly handled as per SOP to ensure proper stock management in SAP.
• Advise the Site Logistics Supervisor of inventory discrepancies, recommend improvements in the system and implement where necessary.
• Comply with a safe working environment, by ensuring that hazardous materials are stored according to regulatory requirements, all SHEQ programs and responsibilities are participated in and safe
