POSITION INFO:

Operations Manager (JB1301)

Location: Westville, Kwa-Zulu Natal

Salary: R35 000 - R45 000 per month, cost to company (Negotiable)

For over 30 years our client has provided organisations all over South Africa with technical solutions and services to assist companies of all sizes in effectively running their businesses. Lead by a strong, young executive team this organisation has a new requirement for an Operations manager to join their coastal division to manage installation and service division.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management and operations role, possess a degree in operations management or similar and have a strong general financial understanding.

Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the technical department

Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures to ensure the efficient and effective running of the technical team

Work closely with the Technical Director, Technical Manager and Security Manager

Oversee the effective running of customer service, installations, and the warehouse

Build strong relationships by addressing customer issues and complaints in a timely manner

Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures

Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company

Provide operational support and guidance to staff

Assist in employee appraisals, promotions, compensation, and termination based on the performance review

Assist in developing operating and capital budgets

Monitor and control expense according to allotted budget

Assist in interviewing, recruiting, and training candidates

Maintain accurate and clear documentation for operational procedures and activities

Ensue adherence to company policies and procedures

Ensure team follows standard operating procedures for all operational functions

Conduct regular meetings with team to discuss issues, concerns, updates etc.

Support operational risk and audit process for the purpose of preventive maintenance

Improving and building upon the current technical service team

Requirements and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field

Minimum 5 years’ Experience in management, operations, and leadership

Understanding of general finance and budgeting

Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees

Excellent communication skills

Excellent organizational and planning skills

Ability successfully manages several different projects simultaneously

Assertive and strong personality

Hardworking, honest, reliable, driven, focused and works extremely well under pressure

Business minded
