SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager, reporting to the Supply Chain Executive, has become available for our Epping

POSITION INFO:

The following position, reporting to the Supply Chain Executive, has become available for our Epping cold store.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• The smooth running of Operations through proper planning
• Maximisation of Revenue and Control of Costs
• Elimination of errors or damage to product and handling all operational problems
• Optimal usage of resources, including staff, equipment and pallets
• Customer liaison
• Control of departmental costs and providing input to budgets and reviews
• Monthly reporting on key operational areas
• Management, discipline and developing of staff
• Ensure compliance with Company’s Management System
• Ensure maintenance of ISO certification
• Maintenance of sound Industrial Relations
• Compliance with Management System and Company Policies
• Development of Departmental Managers

SKILLS REQUIRED:

•  Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Excellent administrative and abstract reasoning skills
• Leadership Skills – Assertiveness, organized and proactive
•  Ability to motivate and discipline teams
• Excellent influencing & negotiating skills
• Attention to detail, strong time management skills and deadline driven
• Business acumen with excellent P&L track record
• Computer literate : MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

•  A post-matric degree or diploma in logistics / operations/finance
• 5 years or more experience at management level in an operational environment
• Computer literate: MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook at intermediate level
• Knowledge of a Warehouse Management System (SAP will be advantageous)
• Knowledge of  ISO
