Operations Manager (Backup Energy Fleet Management)

Our client is a leading South African telecommunication company based in Midrand. They are a dynamic company, continually seeking creative, and hard-working incumbents to join their team. They offer a fast-paced environment and you will always be challenged.

As an Operations Manager (Backup Energy Fleet Management), you will follow project management principles, full scoping, road mapping and project plans for backup energy fleet projects. You will also ensure efficient and effective maintenance services of all Generator sets, including servicing, troubleshooting, fault finding and repairs to ensure the safety, reliability and operational effectiveness of all generators and control systems are incompliance with governmental, legal and regulatory requirements and standards, Health and Safety (H&S) requirements practices and procedures. Part of the role will involve financial principles for example quotations, purchase orders, invoicing, and receipting.

The successful incumbent will possess the following knowledge and experience:

• Matric/ Grade 12 (Essential)
• Relevant Diploma, Degree in Information Technology/ Engineering/ Business Management/Commerce/ Project Management qualification (Essential)
• 5 years overall Telecommunications Experience (Essential)
• 5 years of generator management experience, maintenance, services, repair, and refuelling
• Understanding of Telecommunications - Mobile & Fixed Networks (incl. RAN, Transmission,Core OSS, and Field Operations (incl. Passive and Active infrastructure)
• Proven track record in project delivery, demonstrable experience in ‘end-to-end’ project delivery within complex Operational environments.
• Generator sets ranging from 4 to 250 KVA for complete mobile and static generator configurations encl. Diesel, Hybrid, Hydro fuel, etc. unit types
• Diesel generators in the industry, including experience with Volvo, Perkins, Yanmar, Deutz,Lister-Petter, Kipor, Bowser,
• Technical understanding of synchronised control systems, Mechanical and Electrical component
• Understanding of governmental, legal, and regulatory requirements and standards, Healthand Safety (H&S) requirements practices and procedures.
• Understand of refuelling systems, practices, and procedures
