Operations Manager / Business Development Manager

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Operations Manager / Business Development Manager, with hands-on Operations Management experience, although this is not an office based position, the Head Office is based in Randburg, Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in retail /buying group/franchise management or a similar role, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a regional or multi-unit management capacity.
• Strong hands-on Operations Management experience 
• Strong business acumen with a history of driving revenue growth and achieving operational targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Solid understanding of retail operation, including sales, marketing, and customer service.
• Ability to analyse financial reports and performance metrics to make data-driven decisions.
• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and inspire teams.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to a retail business- group.
• Willingness to travel within the region as required.
• Valid drivers license and own transport

• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and mentoring to store owners.
• Function as the main point of contact for store owners, addressing their concerns and resolving any operational or business-related issues.
• Conduct monthly site visits to ensure compliance with brand standards, operational procedures, and quality control measures.
• Collaborate with store owners to develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies.

• Ensure adherence to operational policies, procedures, and brand standards at all stores.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, stock holding, customer satisfaction and take appropriate actions to address any performance gaps.
• Conduct regular audits to assess operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide training and support to store owners on operational best practices and new initiatives

• Ensure compliance with the store owner supply agreement, legal obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with legal and compliance teams to update supply agreements, manuals and other relevant documentation as needed.
• Conduct regular reviews to ensure store owner compliance with contractual obligations and mitigate legal risks.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the store owners, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Collaborate with other departments at the company, including marketing, operations, finance, and training, to ensure effective communication and implementation of company initiatives.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the store’s staff.
