Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
A leading company within the Telco industry seeks a capable, resilient, business minded indivudual to join their team! This position is based in the Outer western suburbs of KwaZulu Natal.

POSITION INFO:
POSITION : OPERATIONS MANAGER
AREA        : OUTER WESTERN SUBURBS KZN
SALARY    : R30 000.00- R35 000.00 CTC DEP. ON EXP.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Manage and direct the day to day operations of the technical department. Responsible for the Service & Installation divisions within the organisation and work closely with the Technical Managers.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Completed Matric/Grade 12 is ESSENTIAL
• A completed Diploma/National Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or any related field is ESSENTIAL
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in management, operations, and leadership
• Understanding of general finance and budgeting 
• Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees
• Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills 
• Ability successfully manage several different projects simultaneously
• Assertive, strong personality, one who is hardworking, honest, reliable, driven, focused and works extremely well under pressure
• Business minded individual who has been exposed to general finance and Budgets
• Responsible for +-10-12 direct reports
• Valid license and own vehicle is ESSENTIAL

• Manage and direct the day to day operations of the technical department.
• Oversee the effective running of customer service, installations and the warehouse 
• Assist in developing operating and capital budgets
• Monitor and control expense according to allocated budget
• Work closely with the Technical Director , Technical Manager and Security Manager 
• Build strong relationships by addressing customer issues and complaints in a timely manner
• Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures to ensure the efficient and effective running of the technical team
• Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate and clear documentation for operational procedures and activities
• Ensue adherence to company policies and procedures
• Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company
• Support operational risk and audit process for the purpose of preventive maintenance

• Provide operational support and guidance to staff
• Assist in employee appraisals, promotions, compensation and termination based on the performance review
• Assist in interviewing, recruiting and training candidates
• Ensure team follows standard operating procedures for all operational functions
• Conduct regular meetings with team to discuss issues, concerns, updates etc.
