On-Site Drill Technician - Drifter Specialist

SUMMARY:
A leader within the engineering sector seeks to employ an On-site Drill Technician, Drill Specialist.

POSITION INFO:

Qualification

• Matric or equivalent
• Trade Certificate – Qualified artisan (Hydraulic Fitter, Millwright, Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician, Electrician – Would receive preference)

Requirements

• Ms Office, laserfiche and electronic submission of reports and documentation
• Applicant must hold certificate of fitness to work underground issued by mining authority (Red Ticket)
• Must hold a valid driver’s licence
• 10 years’ minimum post qualification
• 5 years’ experience working with underground trackless mining exposure including knowledge of drifters, hydraulic drill rigs, roof bolters, double and single boomers and various associated equipment.

Duties

• Understanding the operation and theory of all moving machinery a working equipment in a trackless mining environment, with maximum knowledge of hydraulic drill rigs of various OEMS and the correct installations, commissioning, decommissioning a minor repair of drifters.
• Ability to read drawings and technical diagrams and to read and understand basic theory of electrical circuitry.
• Thorough understanding of OHS and ISO rules and regulations and compliance.
