Job Overview:
To source and purchase terrestrial cable to be dismantled and recycled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate valuation of stock.
- Determine the value of the stock by trying to best identify the various
materials which make up the cable.
- Purchasing of cable through auction and tenders.
- Stay informed regarding upcoming auctions selling terrestrial cable.
- Obtain a maximum mandate bid from the Directors.
- Bid on the cable at auction, without exceeding the maximum
mandated bid.
- Stay informed regarding tenders available for terrestrial cable.
- Obtain a mandate from the Operations Director to purchase the cable.
- Maintain positive relationships with service providers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric
- At least five years of experience within a related field (e.g. nonferrous
buying, scrap or metal recycling)
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer literate
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
Candidates must be willing to travel regularly, as it will be a requirement of
the job.
