About this role

·         To proactively contact clients and offer them a financial wellness service which would include obtaining and discussing their Credit Bureau report, current debt exposure and Credit Score. In addition, the incumbent should be able to persuade the client that a budget review will assist him/her to understand their current cashflow and spending behavior by comparing this against the norm. Should the outcome reflect that the client spends more than his/her income the incumbent should convince the client that debt restructure is the best option to fix his/her cash flow problem.  If accepted the incumbent will assist the client to complete a Debt Review application.

·         To be effective in providing the financial wellness service a consultative approach should be used to obtain acceptance from the client that the proposed solution will not only relieve them of financial distress but will also provide a long-term solution to make them debt free.

·         To be successful the incumbent needs to be an expert in financial wellness to identify spending behaviour problems with strong selling skills to convince the client that the proposed solution is correct and effective to relieve debt stress.  

·         Where debt restructuring is not required the incumbent should identify current risk management needs and guide them in the right direction to consider insurance products that will manage their financial risks better.

Experience & Education

·         Matric / Grade 12

·         Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and e-mail

·         Post matric 3-year business related qualification (e.g.Marketing National Diploma or Degree) would be preferable  

·         Clear criminal and credit records

·         4+ years’ working experience in a financial services sale’s environment

·         Work experience in Banking or Debt Review would be advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Actively and independently phoning Clients identified in the Cheeta system via Campaigns or lead referrals.

·         Reaching or exceeding the Conversion statistics provided by Management.

·         Convincing clients to do a Credit Bureau check and to provide input to complete a budget and explain the outcomes to the Client.

·         Identify any surplus or deficit in terms of the Client’s budget and recommending solutions to the Client.

·         Use the Credit Bureau information together with the budget information to explain to the client the reasons for their financial problems which can be addressed by restructuring current debt with the aim to improve their cash flow and at the same time repay the debt.

·         Checking the Client’s affordability and initial debt repayment term to identify if the Client was suitable for Debt Review.

·         Explaining the Debt Review product and Fees to the Client taking into account his/her personal circumstances and inform the Client that he/she can assist with the completion for the Debt Review Application and supporting documentation which will be submitted to a Debt Counsellor for acceptance and approval.

·         Completing the Debt Review Application form and related documentation and ensuring that the required electronic signatures or signatures are obtained where necessary.

·         Submitting the completed application to the Debt Counsellor for checking and acceptance.
