SUMMARY:
New Business Manager, Cape Town

POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking a New Business Manager, someone who has a strong understanding of complex selling solutions and also has experience selling consultancy, technical concepts and services.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of successful previous experience as a Sales Lead or Sales Manager,  Business development, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Bachelor’s degree is a requirement, advanced degree a plus
  • Proven ability to read situations, think strategically, formulate comprehensive account plans and drive relationships vertically and horizontally
  • Relentless and experienced in identifying target leads, reaching out and generating sales from cold leads
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to close.
  • Able to take initiative and be creative
  • Good command of English Language
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • Proven analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills.
  • Assertiveness and communication skills.
  • Resilience and flexibility.

Duties:

  • Hunting for new business and Business Development activities
  • Qualify business opportunities, create and deliver sales presentations and negotiate and close agreements
  • Responsible for accurate and timely business projections and capable of navigating complex, multi-faceted sales – both vertically and horizontally
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence
  • To achieve / exceed targets aimed at growing sustainable sales and profits of the Business Unit and organisation
  • Identify and prospect new business sales targets
  • Manage sales and after sales performance of individuals and teams
  • Responsible for efficient and effective coordination between sales and other departments
  • Implement and manage SOPs and SLAs and monthly performance reviews
  • Skill level development
  • Managing incentive scheme
  • Admin: Management reports, sales figures, targets and performance management
  • Financial awareness: Business unit revenue and expenses to ensure budget is achieved
  • To identify new markets and develop new business within these markets
  • Development of sales strategy, through analysis of the business profile, products and services available / required, existing customer base, resources and competitors.
  • Identification of potential new business opportunities through consultation and cooperation with operational management, planned prospecting,
  • Where necessary, prepare and conduct sales presentation.
  • Provide Financial and Operational Manager with accurate information on new and lost business as required.
  • Focus on development of New Business Revenue growth through prospecting, qualifying and closing the deal.
  • Generate and follow up on qualified leads in line with company specific requirements
  • Ensure consistent achievement of all relevant product/monthly targets
  • Manage all relevant internal administrative processes
  • Learn new products knowledge and acquire improved selling skills and communicate to the Sales Team
  • Keep abreast of competition services and Markets
  • Ensure effective and ongoing communication between the Sales Teams and supporting departments within the Company at all levels
  • Respond and assist on all Sales department queries
  • Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met
