NETWORK TECHNICIAN
Location: Pullenshope, Hendrina Area, Mpumalanga
Salary: R13 000 – R15 000 per month
Position Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:00, with standby duty every second week
Start Date: As soon as possible
An established internet and VoIP service provider is seeking a practical and motivated Network Technician to assist with network installations, maintenance and client support.
The successful candidate must have hands-on networking experience, be comfortable working independently at client sites and be eager to continue developing their technical knowledge.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install and configure network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
• Complete on-site internet and wireless-network installations.
• Configure relevant network software and devices to ensure reliable connectivity.
• Monitor network performance and assist in maintaining network uptime.
• Troubleshoot wireless internet and connectivity problems.
• Provide technical support to clients and system users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network-related faults.
• Implement and maintain basic network-security measures, including firewalls.
• Install, configure and support Wi-Fi equipment.
• Assist with VoIP and camera-system installations and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, faults and completed work.
• Participate in standby duty every second week.
• Work safely and responsibly when completing installations at height.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• National Senior Certificate/Matric.
• One to two years of relevant networking or ISP experience.
• Experience completing on-site technical installations.
• Experience providing technical support to clients.
• Practical Wi-Fi and wireless-networking experience.
• Knowledge of MikroTik and Ubiquiti equipment.
• Knowledge of VoIP systems and camera installations.
• Understanding of wireless internet systems and troubleshooting.
• General networking experience.
• Good computer literacy.
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 driver’s licence.
• Own reliable transport to and from work.
• Valid passport and work permit required for foreign applicants.
• Willingness and physical ability to work at heights.
