Network Engineer (EE/AA)

SUMMARY:
Are you a Network Engineer working at an ISP looking for a new challenge? We are searching for a Network Engineer to help a client that work with a big fibre network in Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Responsible for the upkeep of frameworks and systems
• Center and edge switch/switch setup for both layer 2 open access and layer 3 clients (Juniper, Cisco, Mikrotik, Edge-center, Dell)
• Assist  client with router configuration
• ISP support
• Manage new fiber rollouts
• Recording all setup, reinforcements of design, network graphs
• Ensure that network infrastructure is kept up to date
• Manage handover documentation
• Change control for new equipment/design
• Support over email and telephone
• Manage outages and minimise downtime

Requirements:

• At least 4 years experience in a similar role
• Experience from an ISP/telecommunications industry

• Layer 2 protocols such as Vlans and including QinQ / Selective QinQ to support an open access fibre network
• IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting
• Routing protocols, e.g OSPF and BGP
• Routing filters
• Tunneling, e.g EOIP / PPTP etc
• Brands such as Juniper, Mikrotik, Cisco, Dell, HP, Ubiquiti
• Peering relationships
• New technologies and keeping up to date

• Qualification needed:

1. Juniper JNCIA and or Juniper JNCIS
2. Cisco CCNA and or Cisco CCNP
3. Mikrotik MTCNA/MTCRE/MTCINE

• Own transport
