.Net Developer

SUMMARY:
Established financial institution is looking for an experienced .Net Developer (Mostly remote) to join their fast paced team. You will be responsible for the design and development of new service orientated applications (SOA) according to specifications.

POSITION INFO:

You will operate within the following internal policy:

Adhere to internal Systems Design Quality Standards (programming and development best practices)

You will liaise with various internal departments:

• All other departments with the Systems Development Team (i.e. HQS, Issuing, Acquiring, Channels)
• Other departments in IT (IT Risk, UAT)
• Credit Management
• Business Development

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Quality

• Obtain technical knowledge related to the service orientated applications (SOA) environments
• Develop detailed technical specifications from functional descriptions for the SOA environment
• Develop major enhancements for SOA in the production environment according to the technical
• specifications.

o             Develop new products against business requirements and high-level technical specifications

o             Develop relational database systems and web interfaces

•             Fix major and minor bugs for SOA in the Development/QA/production environment

o             Fix escalated bugs for existing SOA in the Development/QA/production environment

•             Perform unit and integration testing on existing environments and new developments

o             Provide testing assistance to developer(s)

o             Update/amend test plans according to solution development to ensure coverage of all areas

•             Provide/Review implementation instructions for new development

•             Provide support to the Development/QA/Production environment(s) wrt the integration between internal systems and applications and external service providers (i.e. Credit Bureaux)

•             Provide first-line support on SOA according to stand-by roster

•             Act as Team Leader for projects

o             Design and develop new products for specific projects

Qualifications & Experience

•             Grade 12

•             A relevant IT qualification with 3 years’ proven development experience

•             Must have completed a relevant systems analysis and design course (or equivalent)

Experience in the following:

• SQL (T-SQL, 3+ years)            
• WCF (Windows Communication Foundation)
• C# (3+ years)             
• WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) & XAML
• Windows Services (multi-threaded)
• MVC or MVVM Design Pattern
• Web Services            
• Powershell adv
• OO Development Methodologies    
• UML adv
• An understanding of SOA (Service-oriented architecture)
• IIS
• .Net Core
