National Returns and Recovery Manager

SUMMARY:
ECommerce retailer seeks a Returns Logistics Manager responsible for all returns logistics functions within the business: Customer returns, Suppliers' returns, and recoveries of damaged, distressed, and low moving stock.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

The role leads and manages a team of product specialists and general workers, responsible for the sorting and preparing of stock to be sold to used good buyers.

Customer Returns

• Overall responsibility for the customer returns process nationally
• Ensure that returns are processed within the desired turnaround times
• Develop the returns team to be able to assess and evaluate all customer returns according to company policies and practices
• Develop a strong leadership team
• Develop and implement strong systematic processes
• Roll out details KPI and dashboard to manage operations

Supplier returns

• Manage the national return to supplier process
• Develop an accurate and streamed line process to manage supplier return
• Ensure that all returns are accurately managed from a risk perspective

Recoveries

• Manage the stock recovery department and ensure that it is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business
• Implement improvement processes and maintain procedures and systems to minimise costs and maximize working capital
• Develop a network of buyers and Jobbers
• Engage with retail teams and synergise the recovery process
• Ensure the recovery percentage is maximized

Requirement:

• Degree: Industrial Engineering/BCom/Mechanical
• FMCG or Retail industry preferred
• The role operates in a semi-structured role, speed of execution is crucial
• Hands-on and practical, highly operational
• Min 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain or Logistics
• Min 5 years working in reverse logistics/returns department/directly managing people to deliver results
• Min 5 years directly managing people to deliver results
• Min 5 years a negotiations-based environment
• Ability to engage at various levels of the business from Executive levels to shop floor level
