National Recovery Manager (JHB or CPT)

SUMMARY:
Major Retailer seeks a Business-to-Business type Individual to oversee the Recovery Team made up of Evaluators, administrators, and stock handlers to grow the percentage of recovery of non-sellable stock and optimize the workflow activities within Recovery and workflow through the warehouse.

POSITION INFO:

• Lead the Recovery team in both Distribution Centres (Johannesburg, 30 and Cape Town, 20)
• Ensure both Departments are adequately staffed and trained
• Oversee the stock evaluation process
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Growing the % recovery of not sellable stock
• Commercial best practice in the area of distressed stock
• Growing and maintaining the buyer network
• Understand the used goods market
• Manage departmental KPI
• Daily/weekly/monthly commercial reporting management 
• §  Optimizing all workflow activities within Recovery and Flow-through warehouse
• Collaborate with line managers to identify staff training and development needs for improved performance 
• Stock management
• Optimate stock recoveries
• Identify new used goods sale channels
• Demonstrate, train and enforce Operational “Best Practices”
• Assist supervisors and management staff with people development.
• Perform annual performance review
• Train and support the understanding of operational KPI
•  Works on ad hoc projects and events.
• Preparation of management reports
• Collaborate with project and operations managers

• Previous experience with electronic goods in a retail environment is advantageous
• History of commercial experience (B2B sales ideally)
• Working with Buyers to identify opportunities in the market
• BI software, Reporting Dashboards
• Lean principles
• Project Management
• Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain / Business / Administration
• 3 years in DC Operations
• Inventory Management
• Systems knowledge (WMS, ERP systems)
• Strong mathematical and pricing ability
• Strong admin skills
• Ability to manage a large group of staff
