National IT Manager

SUMMARY:
Determining, initiate planning, implementing and completion of all projects

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the Job:               

The role will require the candidate to assist in determining, initiate planning, implementing and completion of all required designated projects as well as the overall needs within the organization. Ensuring that all hardware and systems are maintained, developed and monitored. Show strong hands-on experience in deliverables and work with tight deadlines

Key responsibilities, but not limited to:

Create and manage reports:

• Complete daily reports on all IT matters and support delivery.
• Report weekly to Senior Management on IT activity regarding ‘tickets’ logged.
• Report monthly on hardware problems or queries

Manage the company database and all subsequent processes requirements:    

• Understand database management theoretically as well as in practise.
• Able to design databases.
• Functional ability on Microsoft SQL server and all related systems.
• Functional ability on operating systems.
• Functional ability of storage systems and networking
• Functional ability to complete routine maintenance, recover and handling failovers of a database.
• Monitoring and optimisation of databases.
• Manage archived databases and information.
• Create, manage and implement reports on all databases.
• Manage storage capabilities of servers and systems

Training and development of Staff:

• Develop all staff reporting into you to further their capabilities.
• Identify areas where training is required and create action plans accordingly.
• Provide training to club staff in key positions in order to improve all IT related performances

Provide support to the Company:

• Ensure that the IT department receives adequate support as per their requirements.
• Ensure and manage all day-to-day support functions to the entire Company.
• Manage and ensure the effective closure and resolution all ‘helpdesk’ matters.
• Ensure that all subordinates complete their duties in such a manner to provide effective support to the Company.
• Ensure that all club server rooms and related systems are maintained.
• Ensure all processes are documented properly.
• Provide Daily, weekly and monthly feedback to EXCO and any other Line Manager regarding IT’s performance
• Provide input and feedback regarding current situation and future requirements of the IT department.
• Utilise Technology to help business

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant IT related degree
• Must have worked within a multifaceted environment 
• Minimum of 5 years working hands on experience within a Microsoft working environment.
• Must have more than 8 years hands on experience
• Minimum of 5 years management experience
• Must be able to travel
• Have own vehicle and valid SA Drivers License
