Background
PEC Utility Management deliver real time management of utility equipment, tariffs, consumption and behaviour to ensure accuracy and anticipation of optimal utility applications.
Billing and reporting of utility consumption information is generated in a specialised software environment.
Their customised smart metering application assist the customer in day to day energy management.
Salary range
R15 000 - R 25 000 p.m. + Life Insurance and Funeral Benefit

Key Purpose
The core responsibilities of the successful candidate would be the auditing of municipal and supply authorities’ utilities accounts.
Typical responsibilities within the department are the timeously receiving of accounts, the verification of the correctness of consumption and charges referring to electricity, water, sewer, rates and refuse and excellent knowledge of different supply authorities’ tariffs.
The officer/auditor will report directly to the head of the department and must be able to take responsibility of his/her work and function on his/her own to ensure effective project delivery.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Must be computer literate and experienced in Excel (formulas)
- Competent in creditor reconciliations
- Knowledge in the auditing of municipal-/supply authorities’ accounts and the various municipal tariffs
- Understanding of basic financial principles
- Must be able to assist with any other duties in the department
Competencies required
- Matric (Mathematics and Accounting will be an advantage)
- Three to five years’ experience specifically in auditing of municipal-/supply authorities’ accounts and related tariffs
- Fully Bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
- Excellent client service and negotiating skills
- Good verbal and written skills
- Timekeeping and planning
- Deadline and goal orientated
- Personal effectiveness – remaining calm, objective and self-controlled under pressure
- Solution-orientated and able to think innovatively within area of accountability
- Approving municipal-/supply authorities, comparing charges and tariffs
- High level of accuracy in all aspects of daily tasks
- Must be able to work without supervision
- Excellent Computer skills
- Driver’s License essential
- Ability to start ASAP
Qualifications & Experience required
- Three to five years’ experience specifically in auditing of municipal-/supply authorities’ accounts and related tariffs
- Utilities/metering experience would be an advantage
- Financial system SAGE experience would be an advantage
- Experience to professionally communicate with colleagues, clients and establishments
