Global Market Leader in high performance steel industry who deliver customized customer specific solutions seek a Mould Operator to be responsible for handling of liquid steel at casting floor to shape liquid steel into desired product required, maintaining safety and quality standards .Operation and control of individual casting strands and ladle slide gate as a Casting Plant Supervisor condition in cooling chamber, Mould preparation & packing, Handling safely radioactive source, MNC operations. Completion of High school or ITI. Minimum 5 years of work experience
Accountabilities:
In depth Knowledge of Both Open and close casting process
Laldle Slide Gate Cylinder Fixing and control flow from ladle to maintain tundish level. Checking Temperature and taking sample for chemistry checking at spectrometer. Adding adequate tundish covering compound to avoid temperature loss as well as avoid re-oxidation of steel
Maintain Shroud verticality to avoid N2 pick up in liquid steel
Operation of Casting Strands and ensuring that the strand is not lost due to operational factors within control.
Monitoring mold level and cutting hanger from mould efficiently so as to avoid breakout
Ensuring Proper tundish and SEN preheating and prepare mould correctly at start and during re-strand.
Preparing tundishes, launders and transferring to casters/de-skulling area.
To maintain stock of consumables required for two days.
Ensuring safe working procedure are followed and housekeeping standards maintained.
Reporting failures and unusual incidents to shift incharge and carry out any reasonable request from Shift Supervisor.
Training to New Operators.
Accomplish activities assigned by Supervisor during Shut down days.
Zone 2 and Mold change during Section change activity.
Emergency operation check for equipment’s at regular interval.
Ensure all work documentation on work station is correctly completed.
Substitute Shift Supervisor whenever required.
Immediate actions taken during MNC failures, Tundish emergency, Ladle slide gate failures to avoid any damage to life and machine
ll work is performed within in floor environment, where conditions are very disagreeable due to heat, fumes, noise, vibration, and dust, 100 % of work time
Interactions:
Refractory supervisor – To ensure proper tundish & MNC Preparation
Shift incharge/Shift Manager - To work as per production plan
Maintenance Supervisor – To check Cooling chamber condition and inform maintenance crew for rectification
Section in-charge CCM – For grievance’s as well as training and developmentExternal Auditors - To check safety and production as per ISO standards
