POSITION INFO:

The main purpose of the job:

• To support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting functions for projects implemented by the Health Systems Enablement and Innovation Unit

Location:

• Centurion – Gauteng

Key performance areas:

• Support development and implementation program monitoring and evaluation systems that meet donor, stakeholder, and project requirements
• Regularly monitor the outputs for indicators listed in the project M&E framework
• Report on project outputs to M&E manager, project managers, funders, and relevant stakeholders
• Design and Implement risk Management SOPs/processes to ensure the effectiveness of the service being provided
• Support design and implementation of program evaluations
• Conduct data quality and verification audits
• Develop best practice documents and reports based on program outcomes for dissemination to donors and other stakeholders
• Work with the M&E manager to strengthen M&E Systems
• Support M&E capacity building for project staff to enhance understanding and effective use of M&E tools and systems
• Facilitate M&E skills transfer from project to stakeholder
• Facilitate skills transfer to data capturers to ensure the collection and management of relevant data for the project.
• Support development and dissemination of data management standard operating procedure
• Participate in project reviews and planning workshops
• Support M&E Manager in preparing relevant reports
• Support Project Managers with routine reporting
• Suggest strategies to Project Management teams for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project

Required minimum work experience:

• 3 years experience in working with M&E systems preferably in public health programs

Required minimum education and training:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences
• A post-graduate degree will be an added advantage

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

• Must have experience working with public health programs in South African
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience in training and capacity building
• The ability to work in a challenging and deadline-driven environment
• Experience in developing and implementing M&E systems for public health programs
• Experience with data quality reviews or data audits
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be willing to travel to various sites as necessary
