Job Requirements

• Grade 12
• Trade Test Fitter and Turner/ Fitter
• 5 Years exp on MECHANICAL knowledge
• Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience: conveyor belts, crusher’s double shaft mixer, various pumps etc.)
• Experience in Mining essential
• Able to work shift and be prepared to be on standby for call-outs during the night or weekends

 

Job Description 

• Maintenance:
  • Timeous replacement of waring parts
  • Completion of weekly checklist identifying maintenance issues
  • Daily inspection of work area to identify pending faults
  • Lubrication of plant is done daily
  • Good technical knowledge of plant machinery especially related to moving machinery and waring parts
• To repair fix plant during breakdowns
  • To repair fix plant during breakdowns
  • Repair to the same standard or improvements before the breakdown
  • Effective fault finding to enable minimum down time
  • Resources coordinated with production to minimize downtime
  • Regularly inform Manager of tasks carried out
  • Good working knowledge of the machinery used in brick making
• To maximize the functionality of the Artisan Assistance
  • The technical support available from the Artisan Assistant is optimized
  • On the training provided to enhance Artisan Assistant competence
  • Temperament to train and enhance technical competence in support personnel
• To attend to all safety aspects related to fixed plant equipment.
  • Regular attention to machine guarding
  • Housekeeping around the machines per required safety standards
  • Recognition and reporting of safety hazards
  • Mechanical safety according to MHSA and OSH Acts. Maintenance tools to be used in such a manner so as not to endanger the safety of yourself and other Employees
• Housekeeping 
  • Must make sure that the working area is left clean and scrap parts are removed and disposed
• Quality:
  • Be able to meet the required maintenance quality standard
