SUMMARY:
Opportunity Available! Our well known client in the FMCG sector is looking to employ a Millwright to join their team in East London.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description:

Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on production equipment.
Ensure that planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out daily.
Conduct regular inspections on equipment to identify hazards, defects or need for repair.
Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross-functional team members.
Fix or repair the machinery as assigned according to demands.
Maintains daily records to support the Preventive Maintenance work.
Identifies parts- supplies- and services necessary to support assigned work areas.
Attends departmental meeting to stay informed regarding departmental- factory- and company performance- issues- and information.
Conduct fault finding and testing on equipment.
Work directly with plant leadership to develop and execute projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and the resolution of re-occurring problems.
Teach basic mechanical skills to line operators to support autonomous maintenance.
Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
Adhere to Health and Safety Acts policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

Millwright trade certificate
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working as a Millwright
Minimum of 2-3 years doing maintenance on Boilers.
Experience in a manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging industry will be an advantage
Computer Skills (MS Office Package)
Valid Driver’s Licence
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include night shift, overtime, standby and weekends to support a plant that manufactures 24/7.
Must be able to read, understand, and follow machine manuals, mechanical drawings, SOP’s.

Key Competencies

Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, and assorted power tools
Ability to read and interpret schematics: Electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatics.
Ability to work under pressure.
Able to perform the physical demands of the job (be on your feet for extended periods of time and tolerate the noise level of the production environment).
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions.
Good communication skills.
