SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Millwright / Electrician for a permanent vacancy based in Vereeniging, Gauteng

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 plus Qualified Millwright / Electrician with completed apprenticeship
Wireman’s License (3 phase) preferred
5+ years’ experience in large electrical & mechanical installations
Must have strong electrical background
5+ years’ experience in SCADA and PLC control systems as well as field control instrumentation advantageous
Good communication skills
Knowledge in VSD applications and low voltage switchgear principles
Must be medically fit, comfortable with confined spaces and heights
Must have valid driver’s license, own vehicle and willing to travel
Willing to work standby duties and shifts as required
Good knowledge of troubleshooting systems and safe use of tools
Candidate must be resident in the Vereeniging area

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Ensure application and adherence to maintenance information systems and ensure all assets are marked and controlled
Attend to break-downs and prioritize jobs promptly
Routine services, repairs and preventative maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment
Apply sound HR principles to meet objectives
Ensure safety & housekeeping as set out in OHS Act and comply with ISO systems; as well as continual improvement of systems
Ensure stock levels are maintained
Assist with sourcing, quality control of equipment as well as pricing, tendering and implementation on installations

Salary: Negotiable
